Maybe if the MAGA mob and their fascist string-pullers call for a national moment of silence, or fund a memorial plaza, or award congressional honors to the next bunch of children who walk into a school house one morning, happy and healthy, only to be removed from the building later that same day as unrecognizable chunks of meat crammed into body bags, then perhaps I'll give a flying fuck the next time some racist, misogynistic, right-wing shit talker catches a round in the ten ring.
Until then, shit happens.

(1,272 posts)My godmother was present at and lost her parents in a mass shooting and became convinced that if she had her gun in the restaurant instead of the car, she could have stopped the killer. I am at best skeptical of this theory.
But I assume she's not alone in that as Republicans want to arm teachers and such.

And whether I agree with someone politically or not, I don't think that murdering them because of their political beliefs or their speech is the ever justifiable.

We live in a superficial age. Even our deep feelings aren't deep. They just seem deep relative to the amount of thought work we're willing and habituated to do.
