That is one pissed off Sergeant Major of the Army

Last edited Wed Oct 1, 2025, 09:56 AM - Edit history (1)

His name is SMA Michael Weimar and the look he's giving is one of pure nicotine and hate. And to his right is the Chief of Staff of the Army, Gen. Randy A. George. Note that S'arnt Major sports a Special Forces tab, while the CoS AUSA holds a Ranger tab.

And where are the tabs, any tabs, of the fucking drunk lecturing them? Nowhere because he was too much of a chickenshit to try.

Fuck him and his cowardly, bone spurred boss.

Gen. Timothy Haugh: Fired as head of both the National Security Agency (NSA) and U.S. Cyber Command in April 2025. He had served in intelligence and cyber operations for over 30 years.

Gen. Jeffrey Kruse: Fired as director of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) in August 2025. This occurred after the DIA reportedly contradicted White House claims about Iran's nuclear facilities.

Adm. Linda Fagan: Fired as Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard. She had been the first woman to hold the position.

Vice Chief of Staff of the Air Force: Gen. James Slife was also dismissed in February 2025.

Lt. Gen. Jennifer Short: The top military assistant to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was relieved of her duties in February 2025.

Gen. Mark Milley: His security detail and clearance were revoked in February 2025, and his portrait was removed from the Pentagon. Milley, a retired Army general who served as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff during Trump's first term, had become a vocal critic of him.

I think it's an assumption that something "macho" about the "military" means all vote Republican, since they lean heavily into hyper-machismo imagery (having some serious insecurities around masculinity in general, it seems).

It's always anecdotal, but I have two living veterans in my family - husband and brother-in-law, both Democrats. A close friend, career military, supported GW Bush is registered Independent, but votes Democrat. Past veterans include my father and father-in-law - Democrats.

I think it might be new recruits from certain backgrounds who were already Republican-leaning and overlap with Republicanism.

Men of both types could be good soldiers and had the potential to be good NCOs, and I appreciated that some of the Spec 4s definitely questioned "the system" and the way things were done.

From https://combatoperators.com/expert-analysis/tabs-of-the-us-army/ :

Tabs of the United States Army refer to the cloth and/or metal arches used to display a word or words signifying a special skill worn on U.S. Army uniforms. Those tabs are used to identify a unit’s or a soldier’s special skill(s) or are worn as part of a unit’s unique heritage. Individual tabs are also worn as small metal arches above or below medals or ribbons on dress uniforms.

to the analogy to Queeg. The tragedy of Queeg was that at one time he was a fine officer. One doesn't get promoted to O-6 by screwing up. The seeds of his insanity may always have been there, but he must have been able to keep them in check prior to his promotion to Captain. And then they got out. Bligh I don't know about - that was another nation's Navy and a very different time. But Queeg - and I know in the movie that was communicated, I'm sure intentionally, in the faces of the officers who comprised the Court Martial. there's pity there, and pain.

The Apricot Antichrist has always been who he is and I can't see a sane person feeling sorry for him.

But having heard the secretary’s remarks, he proved to be even worse than expected. Reuters reported:

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth slammed ‘fat generals’ and diversity initiatives that he said led to decades of decay in the military and told a rare gathering of commanders on Tuesday they should resign if they don’t support his agenda. ‘Foolish and reckless political leaders set the wrong compass heading and we lost our way. We became the “Woke Department,”’ Hegseth said as he kicked off the event in Quantico, Virginia. ‘But not anymore,’ he said.

Choosing the worst moment from Hegseth’s bizarre and unnecessary speech is admittedly challenging. Was it his boasts about firing qualified military leaders? Or maybe his condemnation of diversity initiatives and climate change as “s---” that the military will no longer care about?.....

Maybe the lowest of the low points was Hegseth’s comment that seemed to open the door to a new attitude toward war crimes. “We unleash overwhelming and punishing violence on the enemy. We also don’t fight with stupid rules of engagement. We untie the hands of our warfighters to intimidate, demoralize, hunt, and kill the enemies of our country,” he declared. “No more politically correct and overbearing rules of engagement.”

Hegseth: "We unleash overwhelming and punishing violence on the enemy. We also don't fight with stupid rules of engagement. We untie the hands of our warfighters to intimidate, demoralize, hunt, and kill the enemies of our country. No more politically correct and overbearing rules of engagement."

In other words, Hegseth spent millions of taxpayer dollars to bring generals and admirals in from around the world so that he could treat them like a CPAC audience.

As for those in attendance who might’ve been uncomfortable with the secretary’s absurdities, he extended some advice to them, too. “If the words I’m speaking today are making your heart sink, then you should do the honorable thing and resign,” Hegseth said.

The Sergeant Major is wearing a long, blue one that designates that he is Special Forces qualified; the black and gold tab on the General's uniform designates that he's a graduate of Ranger School.

Both of these are referred to as tabs.

That remains to be seen of course. DICKtater TRASHd💩mp may decide to have Blackwater (aka Triple Canopy aka Xi or some bogus shit) come in with their private security- militia-urban warfare tactics. Just like in RoboCop, except without the monster robots.

rages against general and flag officers over their political correctness, lack of attention to duty and physical fitness defects. This is the definition of "toxic leadership". If there is one positive result of this it will be that this massive insult may make it easier for them to refuse unlawful orders from Ranger Ramjet (Secretary of "War&quot and the Mango Mussolini.

I'm no history buff but knew that Weimar rung a bell. Sadly it appears to have been a failed initial attempt at a democratic republic in Germany following WWI which ultimately led to the rise of extremist movements. Historians out there please fill in any blanks but hopefully he will come to the same fate as the aforementioned Weimar. I haven't heard the "speech" yet but hope that wiser minds prevail.

wasn't a high ranking officer. He was a Chief Master Sargent in the US Air Force and a lifer. He was generally a conservative and his politics could best be described as aligned with Archie Bunker. Even so, he despised people like Donald Trump and would have been royally pissed to be ordered to sit through speeches by morons like Trump and Hegseth. He hated incompetence. Even though I miss him daily I'm glad he is not around to see the shit show this country has become and the idiot fuckup in the White House.

Technically, they were probably Command Chief Master Sergeants (same pay grade), accompanying their generals. Their main job was probably to keep their generals from jumping up and punching Hegseth in his stupid face.

I'm sure he sat through a lot of pointless meetings in his career.

He was designated an "insider threat" in 2021, which he blamed for his subsequent resignation from the National Guard. This of course makes him eminently qualified to occupy the position of Secretary of Defense.
