The generals won't applaud but will they follow orders?

The meeting with the generals was one of the most disturbing events of this 2nd Trump regime. Trump wanted to be applauded by "his" generals but they all sat on their hands. There was no acclamation. No doubt, this hurt the wannabe-dictator a lot.

So, what does he do? He visits the Naval Station Norfolk to talk to the enlisted service members, to get a barometer of his support amongst the military at large. He did not visit the Naval Academy, because they were officers or officers-to-be. He is recruiting the enlisted ranks for the military support that he wants. He will fire all the generals and officers that he does not need, or are lacking in loyalty.

He is dead set on employing the military against the people of this country. He is well on his way. Unless there is a military coup, which is almost an impossibility in today's military culture, which has been programmed to follow the orders of the Commander-in-Chief, there is not a lot of hope that the military can confront Trump on his wishes to complete his coup.

He is the Great Divider. He will divide the military as he has already divided the rest of America. God help you if you are a Democrat or "radical leftist", because you are the "enemy within". That seems to be where we are today, in my opinion.

There are many in the military -officer and enlisted- who are honorable to their very core.

There are many who aren't, of course. How that all shakes out is anyone's guess. Either way, we are going to learn something useful for what comes next.
