Other than hitting the streets with torches and pitchforks, the next best solution is to use the Trump strategy against him. We all know how much he likes to use the courts to his advantage.
Perhaps the Democrats should force everything and every question thru the courts? Make everything a battle between Trump and the "Judges". Let him take everything to the Supreme Court if he wants. We should tie up his every action with a law suit. Let the Judiciary decide if we are to become an autocracy or not?
I honestly do not know what else we can do unless we can get the United Nations into our polling places and the places that are reportedly "war zones". Since the media cannot report the truth, because they have to give "both sides", we do not have a lot of leverage in this struggle for democracy.

(114,770 posts)..but I think we need to flood the courts with lawsuits. I don't think we are even close to doing that?
We've been filing lawsuits since the idiot took office - and winning lots (SCOTUS excepted).

(52,734 posts)but, there is the idea floating around that SCOTUS waives Trump's agenda because they're afraid if they don't he will ignore them and they will have no power at all. Maybe if Dems push SCOTUS toward powerlessness they will bite back to try to salvage something?

(3,858 posts)It sounds so brave and glorious when portrayed in fiction but the truth was bloody, messy, and definitely not straight forward. The best understanding I take away from their efforts is that they wouldn't accept defeat. They kept banging away and destroying the Facists and their sympathizers. Often they were sabotaged by their own countrymen and women. Many of their efforts risked not only their own lives but the lives of others exponentially.
I think it is important to reveal every single outrage the administration visits upon citizens and to somehow bring it home to people personally. It is important that we stay close to our communities and foster a sense of shared interest in the decisions and outcomes of policies. It's important that we empower members of our communities to do what they can to support the resistance for truly, MANY people have no idea what to do. Its important that we all realize and help others realize that even very small acts can snowball into big, powerful movements, that we stress that people are not alone and that they have support for even their smallest actions from a multitude of people with shared interests.
We may not be powerful enough as individuals to make huge change quickly, but if we each do something everyday to further the cause of democracy, we will win this fight.
