25th Amendment not a variable.

Why:

1. Stephen Miller and Russell Vought are in charge of Trump.
2. If 25th Amendment is a consideration, they will go to the Cabinet -- and the VP -- and threaten them when it fails.
3. And if it is pursued, Trump will replace a lot of them, save for Vance. "You're fired!"

Impeachment is more viable, provided that Republicans in the House are concerned they will lose their seats in the Midterm Elections.

1. I believe Vance only needs the support of 12(out of 22) Cabinet members to initiate the 25th

And then a simple majority of each chamber of congress to sustain it.

The current cabinet is so craven and corrupt, I’m sure Vance could make promises that would sway all but Vought, Wiles, Bondi, Hegseth and maybe Kennedy (Miller isn’t a cabinet member).

Once the 25th ball is rolling, I’m sure there are enough republicans in congress who hate Trump and want to retain their seats in the midterms, that They would vote to sustain the removal. The big question is, would Dems? I think it depends on the timing- if Vance acts before the midterms, perhaps not, but if he acts after the midterms, and Dems have regained control of one or both chambers, I’d say the odds grow significantly.

The 25th remains a potential and viable possibility.

... which means that it has always been less viable than impeachment.

5. Mathematically, I suppose that's true

But if Vance and the cabinet did take the steps to initiate the 25th, and during the 21 day initial suspension period, testified to congress of their first hand knowledge and accounts of Trump’s incapacitation, I’d say the odds for a 2/3 vote would be more likely than a generic impeachment process that would be framed as a partisan attack rather than a “patriotic” action from within the administration that the 25th would be framed by Vance.

There have been rumblings from beltway sources that this is a real possibility being considered. Even Timothy Snyder suggested that Miller and Hegseth’s recent actions could be viewed as defensive maneuvers to ward off any attempt to invoke the 25th.

6. If we had a functioning government it wouldn't be, but Republicans don't care for that.

Ronald Reagan had Alzheimer's by the end of his second term and should have been removed from office. But they hid it as best they could.
