Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said Tuesday he thinks it was a terrible decision for the NFL to tap Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Bad Bunny to headline the Super Bowl halftime show in February.
I didnt even know who Bad Bunny was, but it sounds like a terrible decision, in my view, Johnson told a reporter, when asked for his thoughts on the controversial selection.
Johnson suggested a more suitable choice would have been Lee Greenwood, the country singer known for his patriotic anthem, God Bless the U.S.A., which has remained a staple at political rallies for Trump.

There are so many eyes on the Super Bowl a lot of young, impressionable children and I think, in my view, you would have Lee Greenwood or role models doing that, he said. Not somebody like this.

(20,674 posts)...the MORE they are causing his star to RISE, making him an ICON, a FOLK HERO if you will.
They just don't get it.
And the Super Bowl didn't seek out a performer who knocks 'em dead at "Trump rallies." That wasn't a prerequisite.

(20,674 posts)I can't give you the specifics because I'm sort of apathetic about the dude, beyond the wish that Hakeem Jeffries will make him cry when he takes the gavel away from him after next year's midterms. It will be so refreshing to no longer see "SPEAKER JOHNSON" in the daily headlines.

(20,674 posts)UGH.
I had to go to Wikipedia to see if he had any other charted singles, and he did, but I'll be damned if I know ANYONE who is aware of his "music." He apparently appeals exclusively to MAGAts who like Country music.
