Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez:
"Just so everybody knows, I want everybody to understand: The cuts to your healthcare are whats paying for this (ICE). All that extra money that everybody's paying right now in their premiums, all that extra money that you're paying. All of that extra money...nearly a trillion dollars in healthcare was taken out and given to ICE. So understand how these dots connect. You get screwed over to pay a bunch of thugs in the street that are shooting mothers in the face. That is what this administration's doing. That's what the Republican Party did."

(13,233 posts)They fully support what he is doing. Small protest at local ICE office in Medford OR where I live, local tv station covered it and I saw there was 2000 comments so I thought surely at least half would be on our side. But almost every comment was made supporting Ice and Trump.
My city is about 40-45% dem, its a red city but not by a huge amount and Ashland is only 20 min away, liberal college town.
I wondered if dems were afraid to post. I thought about it but am only on FB for a few groups and dont post politically there. I mean what could I say, you are all brainwashed!

If I did, I'd have to admit there was something very, very wrong. It's easier not to think. Plus it fills a need to belong. They can't belong to a group of thinkers, so they go along with the other group and thus can remain stupid.

(582 posts)the ACA subsidies bill has passed the House, but now needs to go to the Senate.
Let's hope it passes there, but if the
fartbabbler-in-chief vetoes it, we will need more republicans to sign on.
