8. There is an upside to this.

The US is always at or near the top in per capita use of natural resources. Maybe slowing down the economy will reduce our burden on the planet a little.
Of course, it would be nice if any possible gain wouldn't be immediately offset by Trump's slashing of EPA rules etc.
