So when is the revolution?

Let's face facts. Nothing, absolutely nothing, short of a mass revolt is going to take down this regime. Voting, either in2026 or 2028, is not going to do it, they are already rigging these elections in plain sight. Congress isn't going to do a damn thing, those who aren't lapdogs are drowned out by those who are. Don't count on the court system either. Sure, we've had a few victories, but most of those are hollow at best, and at some point they will simply start ignoring the courts. The media, don't make me laugh. The Epstein files aren't ever going to truly come to light until those who need to be held accountable are dead and buried. Even if Trump dies, things will continue to roll merrily along with the oligarchs' hand picked boy Vance.

It is quickly coming down to us, you, me, everybody, to stand up and say no. I know, I know, scary thought, Americans have lived with a truly functioning democracy for so long that many have become apathetic and don't even want to consider that we're going to have to fight, truly fight for out country, but here we are. With each passing day this country is going further down the road to a cruel dystopian nightmare. More than one founding father recognized that at some point we the people would have to fight to retain our democracy, our country. So when does the fight start, when do we rise up and say no more? Hopefully soon, because if we don't there will be no country left to fight for.

Is to flash mob our representatives relentlessly.
NO JUSTICE NO PEACE.
Nothing violent… just pressure. Our reps are too comfortable and aloof from their constituents. We need to be in their face. Not on the phone… not emails. In person.

Old school like during the Viet Nam war.

Make it uncomfortable to live their bougie lives.

Younger folks than me should get this together. JMHO

More reactive to the desires of their constituents. Money gives them comfort, they respond to comfort. They will also respond to discomfort.

Why not me! I am in my seventies and have fought more battles than I can even remember. I am no longer able to be a body on this fight.

No one is addressing this: everyone keeps talking about how we will burn them at the midterms….. what is the back up plan if the elections are cancelled?

We need a plan for the election ratfucking we KNOW is coming.

WHAT’s the PLAN?

Elections cannot be cancelled by the president, the courts, or congress.

I suppose a military coup could result in cancelled elections, but the military is kinda busy now.

A nationwide general strike, along the lines of the Velvet Revolution or the Tunisian-Arab Spring, though the latter wasn't successful in the long run.

Despite your defeatist doomer predictions, the Dems will retake the house and have improving chances at taking back the senate.

So, rather than fomenting violent revolution keyboard warrior-style, perhaps your efforts would be better directed at actions that will help Dems win in November, and overcome any ratf*cking or shenanigans from Republicans.

+20 Trump districts have been shifting 15-30+ points towards Dems in elections over the past year.

They aren’t going to “rig” the midterms, not through gerrymandering, not through voter suppression, and certainly not through some cockamamie Executive Orders.

Nevertheless, we must remain vigilant for chicanery around the margins, and I can suggest some resources to get you started:

Democracy Docket
Indivisible.org
Vote Save America
The campaign of your local representative candidate

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!

20. Aren't going to rig the midterms? There is much evidence to the contrary

Through a combination of executive orders, federal legislation, and red state legislation, rigging is in the works. Only a small amount of this sabotage has to survive court rulings to quash enough blue votes to assure Repubs victory this year. Even if much or all of the efforts fail, the chaos created by the attempts will do damage to the ability of many people to vote and would give electoral victories to Republicans.

These exec orders and legislative "remedies" currently under consideration include:

1. Cancelling all current voter registrations and requiring everyone to re-register with proof of citizenship.
2. Allowing state legislatures to decline to certify elections if they suspect fraud has occurred. Republicans will declare "fraud" if even a single ballot has a pencil smudge on it. We know how they work.
3. Restrict mail-in voting to a large degree. Or ban it. We're already seeing post offices nationwide removing mailboxes from many locations, including on post office property, without justification in order to reduce the ability to handle mail-in ballots. I've seen this in the town I live in.
4. Allowing DHS to subpoena or otherwise obtain voter registration lists by force to look for voter registration fraud. Since lists containg tens or possibly hundreds of thousands of voters, a miniscule number of administrative or data errors - not significant enough to sway an election - would give them an excuse to purge huge numbers from these lists.
5. Dispatch armed ICE agents and other possible gestapo actors to polling stations under the guise of voter/ballot security, but which is really voter intimindation.
6. Shutting down the agency that combats foreign interference in our elections, including cybersecurity and combatting disinformation (CISA). This, in fact, has already happened.
7. Mandate hand-counting paper ballots, ban voting machines, and ban paper ballot vote-counting machines.
8. Ban ranked choice voting.
9. Attempt to cancel the 2026 midterm election due to some manufactured crisis, like a war with Iran. I know that supposeldy can't happen. But all he has to do is get a couple of swing states with red legislatures to buy in to this and we're done.

Whatever Trump fails to pull off as far as federal control of elections could stil be implemented at a smaller scale at the state level by MAGA state governments to make it harder to vote.

Your enthusiasm is a bit too rosy for me. Election interference by Trump and MAGA is already in motion. I don't believe it's fair to say that they aren't going to rig the midterms or that there will be a blue wave.

You clearly haven’t done the math.

1. Not gonna happen, at least nationwide, and not from an Executive Order (note: more Democrats have passports than republicans)

2. State legislatures don’t certify elections.

3. While there chicanery afoot in the USPS, the legality of mail in ballots is determined by each state. (Note: seniors, who have the highest turnout rate, and lean Republican, vote by mail more than any other age group)

4. Numerous states have told Pam and Kristi to Fuck Right Off. They don’t have the resources to seize voter rolls from every state, and even if they possess the rolls, they cannot purge a single voter from them. Again, that is up to the states

5. There aren’t enough ICE agents to control every polling place. “They will just pick strategic blue districts” is also nonsense, as 2024 Trump +20 districts have been swinging 15-30+ points towards Dems in elections over the past year.

6. Yes, that is something to be worried about, but won’t stop the Blue Tsunami.

7. Not going to happen. The SAVE can’t pass without killing the filibuster, and republicans are terrified to open that Pandora’s box. Can’t be done via EO either - states are already ignoring numerous EO’s on elections.

8. 19 state have already done so, and only a handful currently use it. Not a significant factor in determining the majority control in the midterms

9. Not gonna happen- doing the math is the most important for this question, as they simply don’t have the resources to make it happen.

It is critical to never forget this one absolute truth:

Trump is not omnipotent, and the states and the people are not powerless

Despite acting with lawless impunity on a daily basis, this administration has been stalled stymied or restrained numerous times over the past year.
