'Greenland was a breaking point': EU allies say Trump dug his own grave

If trump is wondering why our allies are not rushing to bail him out, he may want to look at the threats to Greenland

CNN anchor Jim Sciutto reported that European Union (EU) officials had turned their backs on President Donald Trump in Iran after he poisoned the well by trying to take over Greenland and threatening the NATO alliance.

CNN anchor Jim Sciutto reported that European Union (EU) officials had turned their backs on President Donald Trump in Iran after he poisoned the well by trying to take over Greenland and threatening the NATO alliance.

In an angry Truth Social post on Tuesday, Trump said NATO countries "don't want to get involved with our Military Operation against the Terrorist Regime of Iran."

"We will protect them, but they will do nothing for us, in particular, in a time of need," the U.S. president complained. "Because of the fact that we have had such Military Success, we no longer 'need,' or desire, the NATO Countries' assistance — WE NEVER DID!"

"Many already doubted Trump's commitment to their defense alliances, informed by his public questioning of Article 5, threats to reduce U.S. deployments, and generally dismissive rhetoric," Sciutto wrote on X. "His attempts to take Greenland were a breaking point for many. Some will see this not so much as punishment for failing to join the Iran war, but as his honest thoughts about alliances in general."

There once was a president bold,
Whose alliances quickly ran cold,
In Iran’s heated scene,
EU turned in between,
As his Greenland ambitions took hold.

He posted with fury one day,
That NATO had all gone astray,
“They won’t lend a hand,
Though we help them stand—
Yet we’ll guard them anyway!”

With boasts of great military might,
He claimed they were no longer right,
“We don’t need their aid,
Nor the deals that we made—
We’ll be fine in this fight!”

But whispers in Europe grew loud,
As leaders grew wary and cowed,
With Article Five
Less certain alive,
And confidence lost in the crowd.

So some saw the rift as a sign,
Not punishment, line by line,
But a clearer display
Of his long-held way—
That alliances weren’t so divine.

Republicans had a real conundrum. The authoritarian Strong Leader that was preferred by the 80% of their base who are authoritarians was an extraordinarily ignorant buffoon with narcissistic delusions of grandeur. The corporate Republicans thought that they could control him and use him for their own interests, like von Papen, von Hindenburg, Thyssen, and all those who signed the Industrialists Letter thought that they could control and use Hitler.
But Trump is so incredibly unfit for office that he could bring his party, HIS party, down before they are able to consolidate their power.
I wish that the Democratic party, and all of those who hope to keep any pretense of democracy in the US alive, could take advantage of Trump's miscalculations.

those are a lot of "Breaking Points", the rest, like Greenland, NATO bashing, and all the errands trump does for Putin. those were expected, the breaking point should have come up much earlier.

Can someone explain to me how ANYONE can accept to even meet with trump? least of all .to help him with anything? Unless one is compromised, I don't see anyone with morals and solid principles being able to .be in the same room with that guy. What is wrong with people..."Breaking Point" Greenland! Give me a break!
