Just tried to renew membership. The hoops you have to jump through are ridiculous if you don't have or want to use a pay pal are too much to take. I am amazed that there can't be a straightforward way to pay for membership. I give up.

1. We're working on implementing a new payment system at the moment

It's not a small task. But in the meantime, you can purchase a Star Membership without using PayPal by going through this link:

Just please bear in mind that this is not automated yet (that's the part we're working on) so you'll have to wait for me to be notified of the payment so I can update your Star Membership manually. After making the purchase, you should not have to wait longer than about 12 hours at most for your membership to be updated, depending on what time of day you make the payment. (It will be much quicker during the work day.)

Assuming we can get it working, eventually this will be automated so your membership updates as soon as you make the payment.

Pay Pal never sees my credit card number, only some one-time long-ass string from Apple.

Perfection eludes me. And that has merit.
