UC Berkeley student charged after antisemitic graffiti reports
A UC Berkeley student has been charged in connection with reports of antisemitic graffiti at a Cal housing complex and in Albany nearby.
Sean Ceballos, 35, was charged Tuesday with one count of felony vandalism, authorities said today.
The investigation began on or after Oct. 14, the University of California Police Department said, after graffiti — via permanent marker, spray paint and stickers — began popping up at University Village in Albany and elsewhere in the close-knit community.
The messages, which "targeted … the Jewish community at UC Village and in Albany" and continued to appear at least through Dec. 1, had themes including opposition and death to Zionist Israel, the IDF and ICE, authorities said.
