Pathocracy

“Pathocracy is a system of government in which a small pathological minority has taken control of a society of normal people. If we were going to go over again whether or not the US is one, we would definitely take in Pete Hegseth’s D-day speech, in which he equated migrants and Nazis. But this is what a pathocracy does – it constantly tests your boundaries, looking for the point at which you’ll say: ‘That is unacceptable.’ “

The above is a passage from an editorial (about the U.S. hosting the World Cup) I read on The Guardian. It’s a term I haven’t encountered before, but it surely seems applicable to our current federal “administration.” Thought you might like to know…

The way Reagan and poppy Bush committed treason with the Iranians to sway the election.
It started long before that with the Republican Party and their Southern Strategy but I was too young to be aware of politics then.

when republicans started to woo religious and apolitical people, referring to them as the "moral majority" or "silent majority". They needed more votes, so they created more voters with promises they rarely kept.

Reaching out to religious people as a political demographic appeared to start with Nixon and republicans have been doing it ever since.
