In a catastrophic strategic blunder driven by absolute panic, Vladimir Putin has ordered an emergency retreat of critical air defense systems from the active frontlines to protect Moscow. Following a devastating Ukrainian drone strike on the Kapotnya oil refinerywhich supplies 40% of the capital's fuelthe Kremlin desperately stripped the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia sectors of their Pantsir and Tor defense shields. This desperate maneuver has completely abandoned over 80,000 Russian troops, leaving them utterly defenseless against Ukraine's relentless, AI-backed and fiber-optic kamikaze drone swarms.

(32,976 posts)Since January. they are dominating Russian military capabilities. Taking out the radar, EW platforms, and associated anti-drone weapons. Soon. there's no logistic/defensive framework to support the 100K Russian soldiers in Ukraine. And another 50K in Crimea?
Russia is fucking done. Banks are closed, can't get your money because it went to Putin's Folly in Ukraine. Good luck, Russian citizens this winter. Putin is your Donald Trump. But you let this fool govern you for 25 years. Too bad, you are done. China will devour Eastern Russia and there is nothing Putin can do about it.

He is going to retake Crimea without having to send in large numbers of troops. The Russians in Crimea are going to self-deport.
Putin gave Russians sweetheart deals to move to Crimea, and he promised to protect them, now he can't protect them.
Zelenskyy is blowing up Moscow and Ukraine is building its own long-range missiles.

(32,976 posts)As a One Way, GTFO corridor for the Russian population who bought illegally occupied land. You lose, leave. Good luck in the New Russian Dystopia.

(24,462 posts)Russia attacked Ukraine. Ukraine is not trying kill Moscow's population unlike Russia killing Ukraine's residence and for now in it's capital of Kyiv.
Ukraine did not start the war but they are aiming to end it.
Slava Ukraine.

(32,976 posts)And Ukraine is happy to systematically take out Russia's military supply chain. It's a thing of beauty, actually. Russia is incapable of stopping Ukraine's strike capabilities. Question is, when will Putin or Russia sue for peace? Putin has destroyed the Russian economy. China will take over Eastern Russia when the whole Russian system breaks down. Coming soon, I think.

(6,701 posts)don't get too giddy about it quite yet. A cornered rat (or Russian despot) may lash out in self destructive ways - such as tactical nukes or other WMDs. IOWs things could get a whole lot better or, a whole lot worse.

(7,381 posts)I've seen so much "Ukraine is or Russia is losing in "reports" that the Russian population wouldn't even be in existence anymore, much less have an army still.
The last news item I read today said Russia was still making gains but very incrementally.
I'm taking all reports with a truck load of salt. We won't know what actually happened until the bullets stop flying.

(7,460 posts)Yes, they've pulled air defense units in to Moscow, but a- they've come from all over, including Ukraine and b- Putin has not "ordered a retreat"
