He'll successfully cast us as Commies, will we successfully cast THEM as fascists?

We elected three Social Democrats, and instantly and in unison, not just Trump, but almost all national Republican office holders and their surrogates, began painting our ENTIRE party as “Godless Communists”.

Here’s what Trump had to say, the gist of which has been repeated endlessly ever since by others: “It’s become a Communist Party…these are not Social Democrats…these are hard core Godless Communists…”

Like most of their dishonest propaganda campaigns, it will work due to its nearly unanimous adaptation by the GOP, along with their current and upcoming laser sharp focus on this big lie. We may win the election, but because of this campaign, we will as usual win with less of the voting percentage than the issues and other realities would indicate should be the expectation.

We have had many years to paint the GOP with THE TRUTH…which is that they are the Fascist/Confederate/Hate Party of the 21st century, but an unfortunately large percentage of the populace at this time does not go along with that. Why? The answer is that we DON’T focus on the TRUE malevolence of the Republican Party nearly as much as they focus on the FALSE malevolence of the Democrats.

My gosh…somehow the Republican Party, which has been full of far right wing nationalist Jew haters for generations (as is the current White House), is now seen by fewer of our fellow citizens as anti-Semitic than the Democrats are.

How could this be? It has come to this point because the GOP has been using the same techniques over the last few years that they are now using to paint us as Commies, while they drown out our meager, unfocused attempts to honestly portray them as the Fascist/Confederate/Hate Party of the 21st century, a designation that has been applicable for many generations.

This must change!

Same as it ever was. Sigh. At least since the 20th century.

The difference, of course, is that there are not many democratic party communists, if any, while the entire fucking republican party has tilted fascist.

the point is to declare us "unhumans" and kill us all

It (posobiac's book)features a foreword by Steve Bannon and a blurb from JD Vance. The book claims that the American left desires a communist dictatorship and thus should be labeled "unhumans" who should lack human rights.

3. The solution is to define ourselves before the other guy can.

To define ourselves, we must talk about SPECIFIC things we will fight for. If we are not specific, teh Republicans can and will fill in teh blanks.

Look at the DSA platform. Every item is positive and specific. Every single one. You might not agree with all of them, but that platform defines what Democratic Socialrs are and what rhey are committed to doing. And the people running on that platform are winning. Americans usually bad the candidate they think has bold, clear ideas, even if they are terrible or completely unachievable ideas ("I will build a wall&quot .

We can't prevent Republicans from calling us commies, but when we talk specifics like
* eliiminate for-profit prisons and treat drug problems like a disease rather than a crime
* universal health care for evert American
* A wealth tax on the top 0.1% richest Americans and limits on them passing on billions to the next generation of oligarchs

Americans understand these things. Most Americans have on idea of the differences between socialism, communism and fascism. The only way to defend against those names is to be very clear about the new deal we are offering Americans, ewgardless what name anybody wants to use.

6. Comes down to being cheated economically by capitalists or capitalists robbed of 'liberty'

Either way it's a hell of a fight between approaches and their OPPORTUNITES

The US POST OFFICE was according to the GOP a socialist imposition on the economy... to make it FAIL economically the GOP required the Post Office to BANK heath and retirement benefits for employees that weren't yet born.

When people have to CHEAT OUTRAGEOUSLY there is a message with a lesson. It seems Dems have never successfully education the US voters.

9. I think that any Dem asked about this should say "Trump is lying about that. He lies about everything."

Sometimes the simplest answers are the best, and anything that reminds voters that he constantly lies is to our benefit. And it is a lie, since even Mamdani is not a communist.

Nonsense. Republicans have been trrying to do this to Democrats for decades and it just doesn't work. Nobody will listen to Trump except those who would vote for Adolf Hitler if he ran as a Republican.
