It was a slap in the face. I've never forgiven Poppy Bush. For that and a lot of other things but that nomination in particular was a really vile thing to do.

Could only imagine what was going through his mind that day. We had to leave DC a little early because things started getting dangerous. When we got back to Delaware, our school bus was pelted with rocks. In a few weeks, Bobby Kennedy was killed. Crazy times.

Anyway, Justice Marshall was a great man, while Clarence Thomas is just an ass.

At the time he was caught between replacing the first black justice and trying to convince the repuplicant base that he was a true conservative in time for the 92 election. That was a lose-lose.

After all, it was decided primarily on the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment.

If it came up, I bet he'd first attempt to determine his chance of ending up with the luxury motor coach before casting his vote!
