Scoop: CNN's chief legal affairs correspondent Paula Reid has declined to renew her deal at CNN.

I'm told Reid cited Paramount's looming takeover in convos with network brass and has expressed concerns about the changes at CBS News.
Details in @status.news: www.status.news/p/paula-reid...
On Tuesday, Paula Reid was everywhere across CNNs programming. As the Supreme Court handed down its major decision rejecting Donald Trumps executive order limiting birthright citizenship, the networks chief legal affairs correspondent appeared throughout the day, breaking down the ruling for viewers.
Its a role Reid has filled repeatedly during her tenure at CNN, becoming one of the networks most trusted legal voices and guiding audiences through the legal battles and constitutional questions ignited by the Trump administration. Along the way she has delivered a steady stream of scoopsincluding one on Tuesdaywhile providing analysis. Its a role that CNN brass had hoped Reid would continue to play.
But in a few months, Reid will no longer be at the network. Status has learned that the 43-year-old star correspondent, whose contract is set to expire this summer, has decided against inking a generous renewal deal offered by network executives. Reid, I'm told, informed management at the Mark Thompson-led network last week that she intends on exiting when her deal is up.
