In my opinion, we are seeing the influence of Bernie Sanders on the Democratic Party, many years after his run for the Presidency. He was the most well-known "Democratic Socialist" of our time. But he ran as a Democrat. He did very well in Colorado in his presidential run.
Last night, a "Democratic Socialist", Melat Kiros, upset the long-time incumbent Diana DeGette, to win the Democratic primary for Congress in Colorado.
Trump and the Republicans will rush to brand her as a "communist" but she might more accurately be called a "Bernie Sanders Democrat".
In my opinion, this might be a good way to turn the "communist" label against the Republicans. Because many Republicans respect Bernie Sanders and they do not consider him a "communist".
Just my opinion.

And he wasn't even a Democratic Socialist!
