President Donald Trump's approval rating has fallen to a new low, as negative views harden and disapproval now outweighs approval by double digits, according to a national poll.

White House spokesperson Davis Ingle told Newsweek in an emailed statement earlier this week, "The ultimate poll was November 5, 2024, when nearly 80 million Americans overwhelmingly elected President Trump to deliver on his popular and commonsense agenda."
Why It Matters
The downward move in Trump's job approval coincided with a widening intensity gapwith more voters strongly disapproving than approvingan indicator historically linked to turnout and midterm outcomes, particularly when public focus shifts to domestic priorities.
