Trump announces plans for statue garden in Potomac River Park

Source: msn/Bloomberg

11h

(Bloomberg) -- President Donald Trump said he would install his proposed sculpture garden of “American Heroes” in West Potomac Park, a stretch near the National Mall that includes the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial.

“Right now, it is a totally BARREN field of Prime Waterfront Real Estate along our Mighty Potomac River,” Trump said in a social media post. “When finished, West Potomac Park will be a World Class Masterpiece with elegant Landscaping, and adorned with Beautiful Statues, and be yet another one of my great projects to make Washington, D.C., the Safest and Most Beautiful Capital in the World.”

The park is primarily known for its stretch of cherry trees along the Tidal Basin, though Trump’s plans seem likely to cannibalize a set of softball fields that abut the King Memorial and nearby memorial to Franklin D. Roosevelt. The president said the statue garden would feature Founding Fathers, veterans, civil rights leaders, athletes, artists and entertainers.

Congress appropriated $40 million for the project as part of the president’s signature tax bill signed into law last year, and the National Endowment for the Humanities has announced a grant program for the statues paid in part from canceled arts and humanities projects.

His team just might be thinking about putting up some statues of folks like David Duke, Lester Maddox, etc.

Our money is been skimmed out of these projects. I guarantee for every 3 million, 1 million is going in someone's pockets

How the f do we stop this when Congress is f'ing worthless?

Potomac is an Algonquin Indian word. Is there an Indian phrase for " he who has his head up his ass".
