WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. and Iranian negotiators reached a tentative agreement Thursday to extend the ceasefire in the 3-month-old war by 60 days and start a new round of talks on Iran’s nuclear program, according to a U.S. official familiar with the matter.

Iran did not immediately confirm any deal. Vice President JD Vance on Thursday evening confirmed there was a tentative agreement, but said it was unclear if President Donald Trump would approve it.

“It’s hard to say exactly when or if the president’s going to sign,” Vance told reporters.

He added: “We’re going back and forth on a couple of language points.”

Iran is fine with dragging out keeping Hormuz shut down and Krasnov has gotten the price of crude headed below $90/barrel every time he announces a peace plan is imminent. Krasnov dearly needs to get the price of gasoline down with the midterms approaching.

I see the Saudis are going to drop its selling price of crude oil to Asia down to $8/barrel from a high of $19.50/barrel. The Saudis are doing their part to help Krasnov.

I support Democrats.

The Iranians are apparently bargaining from a power position and our administration is at a loss on how to deal with it. Maybe if ‘We Won’ is reiterated ad nauseam, the administration will actually believe it. What a joke.

I don't think they will live up to any agreement. It is not in the religious fanatics to be honest about anything. I suspect that once the US Navy withdraws everything will go back to normal.

Trump took a big gamble with this war that didn't pay off. He gambled that the Iranian people would have risen up against the Mullahs. That didn't happen. The Mullahs killed the leadership of the opposition. They are still in power. Without regime change or the imminent threat of US military intervention nothing will really change.

The Mullahs will say anything to get the US off their backs. Once the US withdraws it is back to business as usual. That includes building nuclear weapons.

This was always a no win war for the US.
