'I've Had Enough!' Trump Storms Out of Meet the Press Interview in Wild Fashion -- Explodes On NBC's Kristen Welker

Source: Mediaite.com

President Donald Trump stormed out of a Meet the Press interview Sunday — after moderator Kristen Welker repeatedly fact-checked his claims on a variety of topics including; Jan. 6, his “anti-weaponization” fund, and election fraud.

The heated six-minute final block of the interview began with Welker pressing Trump about the $1.8 billion “anti-weaponization” fund he continues to promote — despite his administration officially abandoning its efforts to launch the fund. Welker pressed — attempting to confirm that Trump is indeed throwing in the towel.

“Just to be very clear, are you backing off the fund completely as your acting Attorney General Todd Blanche has said, or are you looking for another avenue to revive the fund?” Welker asked.

All his life, he's bulldozed his through every situation by repeating his lies until people get sick of it and give up. Welker wasn't doing that, and he couldn't handle it. Kudos to her for getting him so flustered that he had to call the whole thing off!

I agree that we need more of this sort of thing, where reporters stand firm and refuse to capitulate to him. It won't happen with the White House press corps, because they don't want to piss him off and lose their access to him, but other interviewers need to start following Welker's lead.

He needs to be treated like that.

I agree as to the journalists in the press corps. For right now.

But as more journalists outside the corps stand up to him, the ones who make up the corps are going to be forced to be more assertive, or they’re going to look like cowards, and will start being called out.

If he saw f b I agents, letting people into the white house on january sixth, then those f b I agents should have been brought to trial.

When he claimed there was fraud in the twenty twenty election, he didn't bother to give the lawyers any evidence. Which ends with the lawyers being disbarred, or in the process of being disbarred, because they presented a case with no evidence.

One would think a good journalist would know this.

the fact that he rarely stands for any public appearance now.

All those Oval Office shots have him in the middle (no surprise) but nowadays he is almost always seated with his posse behind him. And when he sits, he falls asleep in the most obvious posture. These scenes look to me like people standing around a hospital bed, waiting for the guy to die.

The only way he could stay awake in the NBNC interview was that he was screaming continuously. And to him, this is normal. Tomorrow he won't even remember it -- literally. That is how dementia works. I've seen it 1000 times. And I guess he has already agreed to a follow-up interview with Welker. WTF? This guy is pretty close to flatline mentally.

So not disappearing from questioning like Reagan or vacationing like Bush,Jr.("Now watch this drive!&quot we are going to get condensed rage and rant outs instead of any sustained policy explanations. At least they are short outbursts and the Truth Social posts are done on sycophant crutches. BS and rage, cutting questions short. Maybe they will let his appearances fall apart rather than biting their nails when he attempts one of those marathon rants on live TV hepped up on the devil knows what and in steep physical decline.

The only thing his "friends" are happy with is bowing to his will. If it is suicidal all the better for their eventual move to phase 2. Real danger of course in getting blame from the suspicious hordes of Trump enthusiasts. Doctors, advisors? Scapegoating the news media for stressing him? God knows they have shamefully enabled his moral decline and crimes to the nth degree as the irritated Ringmaster Foxtrots toward July 4th. Despite his paranoia it is his sycophants keeping him dancing in the silly stuff to his detriment.

31. This is just theater and a failing brain. The real question is ...
Sun Jun 7, 2026, 12:01 PM
Sunday

Why was he there at all, and not on NewsMax.

Maybe it is to impress the 30% of the population that wants to hang with him, but is having doubts. From inside that wasteland that is called Trump's brain, that very well may be all it is.

However, he had a terrible week. He continues to hemorrhage support among the public. The war is a complete mess. And his biggest problem is that Congressional Republicans are starting to run away from him because the election is now just 5 months away, and 2 of those months are "dog days" when nothing happens. So basically the GOP senators and reps are looking at polls that are lousy. Even if an individual is not in jeopardy, they have no interest in being in the minority. They see nothing positive in June. July and August are basically lost to summer vacations. So they see a 30-day period in September to try to improve their situation before early voting starts. Time is running out, and Trump keeps getting worse.

Therefore, that might be why Trump was on NBC instead of Fox. His people know that if the Dems take even one house, the agenda is over, and if the Dems take both houses, there will be a lot of activity collecting evidence and sworn testimony that can be used to prosecute these criminals if we take the White House in 2029. So these insiders are ready to jump ship. They want no part of the last 2 years if the election goes badly.

My theory is that the insiders pushed Trump to go on NBC in a "Let Trump be Trump" moment.

a video screen between him and the interviewer. Then, just have someone at a control panel ready to play different clips of Dump saying the exact opposite things of what he is likely to say in the interview.

The person at the control panel could have 30 different clips ready to roll that completely contradict the things that he is about to say. Then, the interviewer could be politely prepared to say, "Yes, Mr. Prseident, but in August, 2024 you said that this was the case..." and then play the clip and ask for his response.

After a few instances of this (if he got through that many), he would tell the interview how nasty they are and storm out, but it would be fun to watch. Maybe add something around the chair set up so that there are some kind of bars or small steps that he to step over to get into the chair, so that when he storms out there is a chance that in his haste he will trip and fall over them.

I want to watch that.

If Meet The Press is so inaccurate and awful then why did he even agree to an interview?
Just like everything else he does he it makes ZERO sense.

84. "Where's the evidence"

Trump can't answer that one. We need to trust Don that the majority of Americans are liars/cheaters/terrorists. But, him, a convicted 34x felon (so far) is telling us the truth?

If Republicans really gave a fuck about our future, they'd impeach Trump tonight.

But he has put himself in a position where every distortion he comes out with is visible and open to scrutiny and challenge.

Now in a home for the Terminally Confused, he'd fit right in.

He is so psychotically ill, so out of touch with reality, to tolerate this behavior from anyone, much less the president, is lunacy. Republicans are allowing his sickness to permeate the whole country.

100. MaddowBlog-On election claims, Trump triggered by 'evidence' callout on 'Meet the Press' interview
Mon Jun 8, 2026, 02:53 PM

Trump is sometimes confronted with a word that practically causes a presidential allergic reaction: “evidence.” Trouble soon follows.

Of course Triggered Trump abandoned his MTP interview: Kristen Welker used the one word that practically causes a presidential allergic reaction:

“Evidence.”

In the years following his defeat in the 2020 presidential election, Donald Trump would routinely boast that he’d soon present evidence in support of his absurd electoral conspiracy theories. That never happened, of course, because there was no evidence to share: The Republican lost fair and square.....

Nearly three months later, the president sat down with NBC News’ Kristen Welker for his latest “Meet the Press” interview, and when the host dared to use the “e” word, he couldn’t simply shift his focus to a different reporter, so he instead abruptly ended the interview. MS NOW reported:

“You’re either crooked or you’re stupid,” Trump told Welker, who kept a cool demeanor despite the president’s barrage of disparaging slurs.

Moments before he attacked her, Trump — without providing any evidence — said he believes elections in the U.S. are rigged. Then he lambasted television news networks, singling out NBC, CBS and ABC.

“They’re crooked just like you’re crooked, your press is crooked. And ‘Meet the Press’ is crooked,” Trump said
.

In context, there was no great mystery as to what triggered the president and generated his interview-ending meltdown: After Trump wrapped up a conspiratorial rant about Jan. 6 rioters, Welker emphasized for viewers, “Just to be very clear, there’s no evidence of what you’re saying.” He was clearly not pleased......

And so, he unraveled, ultimately walking away from questions he simply wasn’t prepared to answer, raised by a journalist who dared to ask him to back up his baseless claims.

WOW - Trump crashes out & cuts his interview w/ Welker short as she presses him on his lack of evidence for claiming elections are rigged

"You're either crooked or you're stupid. I've had enough. Thank you darling," he tells her"

"I traveled all the way to Wisconsin for this interview," she pleads

It was a timely reminder of a few unavoidable observations. First, Trump tends not to do lengthy interviews with independent news organizations, which leaves him unprepared when they ask the kind of questions conservative outlets avoid.

Second, and relatedly, it’s no secret that the president has surrounded himself with sycophants and yes-men at the White House. He grew visibly enraged with Welker, not just because she professionally pushed back against obvious falsehoods, but also because she exposed Trump to reality in ways that obviously made him uncomfortable.

And third, amid public discussion about his mental fitness, the president’s furious reaction suggested he’s also struggling to regulate his emotional outbursts.

As for the near future, the unpleasant exchange on NBC News should hopefully lead to additional questions in which Trump is again pressed for the 2020 evidence he claims exists, but which he’s refused to show.
