Happy Thanksgiving from western NC! Very non trad meal...

Grilled salmon, stuffing, roasted potatoes, peas - pecan pie and vanilla ice cream (Tillamook).

Our grandson will be here at 3 for our meal. Quiet, peaceful day here - hoping you all have a great day!

Baked Halibut and long grain rice, steamed veggies, sweet potatoe casserole. Here. Wine and football. No pig out while many go without food. Just a guy and his lab, noodling on multiple guitars while I watch my Cowboys choke. Then, more wine (or whine)!
Cheers to all.

Just 2 here for the 'feast' so it's streamlined. Daughter not fond of roast turkey, so I do a turkey breast in the slow cooker with green enchilada sauce, extra roasted green chilies, some extra sauteed onions, cumin, garlic, Mexican oregano. Cooked some black beans to have with sweet potatoes and salsa, apple crisp (no pie dough) for dessert. Daughter makes a pate and we have cheeses for munchies all day.

Started the turkey in green sauce a few years back when daughter was still in Tucson. She always volunteered to 'run the barn' and take care of the horses so the ranch hands could have the day off. When husband & I retired to the area, I did the roast turkey the day before thanksgiving for a more traditional dinner for 2, then packed up the camp stove, sliced turkey, green sauce, tortillas, sweet potato & black beans for an outdoor picnic dinner with daughter and 8 horses. No TV, just fresh air, birds, lizards, savory food, and a beautiful setting looking out toward the Catalina Mountains.

Thankful to have both of my adult children and some friends here today with my grand dogs---3 goldens and one old mutt!

I'm doing traditional....but the sweet potatoes, potatoes, squash and green beans are all from my garden!

Blessings to you all, and prayers for our country in the coming year.

From the coastal plains of eastern, NC!

Cheers to all!

I’d also like to dedicate a shot of Chinaco in memory of Terry “Bartcop” Coppage, and every one else whom we’ve lost along the way. 🥃🥃

That meal sounds great!

Dinner here will be smoked turkey breast, baked potato (no stuffing - giving up wheat again), peas, whole cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie (with crust removed). Got up early enough that I'm about to have a salad for lunch, since I won't have room for salad later.

It's a deceptively warm-looking sunny day here, cold out, but with sun streaming across the living room, it's nearly 80 indoors with the furnace off.

We are having salmon. It should be amazing. The hubby is a good chef, as well as a major baker.
