...... assistant when you are trying to deal with large amounts of data or just plain research on a topic you are interested in.
But it can also be used to TRICK people into believing made-up stories. "News" stories that fill the page of once legitimate news sources.
If you haven't noticed yet, it is starting to creep onto these pages.
If left to inadequate filtering and editing, it will take over once useful news sources until they are gone.

George Will and Rachel Maddow are two key news figures I have seen used in AI-generated news stories.

(293 posts)Until we figure longer-term consequences out, disclosure of AI use is the short term response. A reference statement in a document indicating the AI used, date (range?) and description of scope and usage. For example. Disclosure -This email composed by ChatGPT and edited or revised by Jane Smith on February 15.

Disclosure - Mike Smith composed this article with research and editorial assistance by Claude, Oct. 12 - Feb. 24. All words are the author's own work.
Not a solution to the anxieties and bad faith use, but perhaps an example of the intent for ethical users.
