"Morgenmuffel"
[noun] (German)-- A person who is grumpy, irritable, or slow to wake up and function in the mornings. It combines "Morgen" (morning) and "Muffel" (grouch/sulk), describing someone who needs coffee and time before becoming functional and cheerful and able to form sentences, or avoiding conversation until fully awake. It's used humorously.
