It's just too easy to overlook these magical places.

3. sometimes these small places have the best food vs the big boys.

case in point: untill the year 2000 my late mom and i would go back east to do geanolicial research. we went into this small bar and grill. the cook / businness owner ?, looked like mel out of a certain sitcom called "alice" that i watched when a young man. he looked just like mel. i ordered a burger and fries and WOW, were they good !!!!!!

4. They must have filmed it after hours. Usually not only the counter is full with diners

but behind them there is a line of people waiting for an empty seat. And the line, of course, extends outside.

Granted, we have not been there for many years..
