works better for me than simple iced water.

It's versatile, too. You can hold the glass or mug against your inner wrists to cool them off. Or, after sipping enough to cool you off inside, you can pour the rest over your head to cool off on the outside.

Second choice would be a thick chocolate milkshake. But I do not recommend pouring it on your head.

And, yes, the name predates the ‘diabetes water’ sold by Coca Cola.

Ingredients
2 cup pine needles, woody ends removed
4 tablespoons sugar
2½ cups water (use bottled or filtered water)
Instructions
Put the needles and sugar in a glass jar or bottle and fill up with water.
Add the lid and gently shake the jar so the ingredients are evenly distributed.
Put the bottle on a windowsill with direct sunlight (or indirect sunlight during summer). From here on, do NOT shake the bottle at any time, or it may explode.
Wait THREE days. Then, open the bottle. Again, do NOT shake it. Strain out the pine needles.
Pour liquid over a cup of ice! Squeeze in some lemon slices, perhaps some mint leaves, and enjoy!

Haven’t thought about this in awhile. Maybe the grandkids will like it

I consume Tops brand of bottled water at room temperature too but most likely I don't consume enough.

Sometimes I consume water with a lemon wedge but not cold water.

made with alcohol free red wine, and cut up oranges and limes left to infuse.
this is one recipe where alcohol free wine, which on its own may not be that drinkable, works fine.

My wife saw "Pims cup" in a movie somewhere, and decided to make one.

We don't drink alcohol often, but it's an interesting summer drink.
