(9,790 posts)Depth perception is thrown off. Us, I hated selling them and have no more room to hang them. That includes my family that's left too. No room left. I do paint when I get a really good idea and I want to see if it would turn out the way I see it in my minds eye.

(9,790 posts)In January I had surgery and was able to recover sight in one eye so I'm glad I have that. Before I couldn't even see colors very well.
I do think that for Christmas this year I'd like to do some sort of painting of my daughter and daughter-in- law but haven't decided in what genre I'd like to set it in yet. I know I will include their dog and 2 cats that died this year in it.
Don't have it in my head yet. I'm sure a vision of what I want will come.

(9,790 posts)I've done some painting since my surgery but nothing on a canvas yet. While I was almost 70% blind I did decorative things for gifts.

(9,790 posts)I was painting it in the method of the fauvists. Andre Derain in particular. Him and Oskar Kokoschka are favorites of mine. The fascists were a school of expressionists.

(39,797 posts)Youre very talented. Your composition and use of line is exceptional. And I agree with Ocelot about the first one reminding me of Gaugin. Im sorry about the issue with your eye. That must be tough to overcome. Im glad to hear youre going to give your art another try. Good luck!
