Carved birdhouses

Last edited Sat Mar 28, 2020, 06:17 PM - Edit history (1)

A few birdhouses carved with a chainsaw. I make a lot of these in normal times a month from now we would start going to art and craft shows where I sell them among many other pieces.

After carving I burn them with a torch, brush and sand. Apply color, some I leave natural. Then put deck and siding preservative on.

I made this video using electrics in the shop all my smaller stuff I use electric. Big carvings are done outside with gas saws

I love whimsical art (that's mostly what I create too) and the subtle coloring on this one is very well done.

Coloring is done with detail spray guns spraying exterior acrylic, and dry brushing.

Yes! The DU Marketplace! I'd consider buying one there or from Etsy. I almost never buy anything from eBay anymore.

Unique. Lucky birds to live in one of these "different" houses. Thanks for posting. Talented woodworker.

Wrens will go into just about anything they are not fussy, a large box they will fill with sticks to the proper hight. Bluebirds like a deep box 5-7 inches deep with a 1.5 inch hole.
