Pacific Northwest Thunderbird blanket and Tlingit Chilkat blanket

https://garlandmag.com/article/ruth-woodbury/

From above article, a Maori woman shows off a blanket gifted to her at the Longhouse Education and Cultural Center at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington where she participated in learning how to make cedar cloaks

From the article:

Ruth Woodbury, Maori, treasures a blanket she was gifted, the last from the Longhouse 20th Anniversary collection. It’s a thunderbird, a symbol of protection and strength and the carved symbol will greet you at the Longhouse entrance.

The Longhouse Education and Cultural Center's 20th Anniversary publication
In honor of this twenty-year relationship, the Longhouse hosted an exhibit showcasing the work of over 70 Indigenous artists.
