When I was at uni in the 70’s , I used to DJ our campus station … i was the wake up shift , and would stumble in and put that on as a wake up call to anybody listening .
First song of the day , I thought it had a mellow rooster call effect .

I eventually got complaints for playing it e v e r y d a y
and had to drop it for a bit … but could sneak it in once and awhile

good times

The duo had some incredible blue eyed soul songs but it doesn't seem Daryl missed Oates much.
After following the series "Daryl's House" it seems the talent was one sided.

Maybe I just need to check out John Oates' rare solo material but I'm not optimistic.
