Related: About this forumLate Afternoon on the Bitterroot Range with My New Wide-Angle Lens (Rokinon 12MM)

I bought the lens a couple of years ago on special at B&H Photo, but I have never used it until late this afternoon. This is just a quickie test run, after the all-day fog lifted (there are still a few wisps of fog on the lower green). I paired the Rokinon 12mm to a Sony A7-R4, and as with most non-recognized lenses, had to go full-tilt manual to include setting up for "shoot without lens" in the camera menu options.

(26,167 posts)But this was a WTH moment .. for $200 Ill try it. A few years ago I bought a cheap TTArtisan 11mm for my Fujifilm GFX-100S, and Ive scored some winning shots with that strange lens too!

(155,678 posts)It's funny; I have an Olympus lens 12-45mm that I use all the time. Andy called it my 'walking-around lens.'
I probably use it 95% of the time. It's a pro lens and so easy to use.
Your photo is phenomenal! Sharp, clear and with crisp details! Happy shooting!

(26,167 posts)I love it! I got it as a result of a rainy day at Thors Well on our June trip down the Oregon coast before my report date at the lookout in Idaho. I was babying my Sony in the pouring rain, whilst a young woman was shooting away with an unprotected camera. It was an Olympus. She told me that when the Olympus got dirty, she just washed it off! Maybe that was an exaggeration, but Id heard that sentiment before from OM owners.

(155,678 posts)I believe it's the pro lines of cameras and lenses that are waterproof as well as dustproof.
Andy told me about a photographer he knew who got his camera covered in mud while shooting. When he was done, he dunked the camera in a bucket of water to clean it off. And it continued to work.
My Olympus camera is a Mark IV. It's perfect for me. And the photos I'm getting are better than nearly anything I did before.
