You two haven't been married for longer than I've been alive, but it's damned close. And I can't help smiling for you.
It's always great to encounter people who -- at least on some points -- are examples of "the way things ought to be."

(30,163 posts)Your husband has beautiful hands.
Should you be comfortable answering, how did you meet, and how soon did you know he was the one?
CaliforniaPeggy
(157,237 posts)I was dating a young man whom I loved, and he loved me. But he felt that I had not dated enough other men to really know that he was the one. He wanted me to date more men, and he was going to date other women. I was not happy, but I complied.
He introduced me to my now husband, and guess what?
I found that this gentleman was just what I was looking for. My soon to be ex-boyfriend stayed away, and I fell in love with the new man. I found that I respected him as he did me. We spent some time getting to know one another and then I decided that he was the man I wanted to marry. We'd met in the spring, and by the fall, we were firmly attached. In the new year, we announced our engagement and we were married the following June.
My ex did return, but it was too late. I felt bad for him, and I hoped he would find someone that was perfect for him.
So there you have it!

(27,647 posts)When my wife and I were dating, the first time we went to a restaurant, she was aghast at the way I held utensils. She called it "a caveman grip." Sort of like your husband has on that knife.
Anyway, she got over it!
Congrats on 61 years, Peggy!

Your meal looks delicious! Is that some kind of chicken cutlet or breaded fish?
You both look wonderful. 👏🏻. And I hope Hubby was careful with that knife!
