Sedgwick County Election Office corrects inaccurate voting information

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Sedgwick County Election Office released a statement on Saturday correcting inaccurate information that was distributed to Wichita voters ahead of the upcoming March 3 Special Sales Tax Election.

Officials said a mailer distributed by Wichita Forward contained incorrect dates and times that could prevent voters from successfully casting their ballots.

The mailer incorrectly states that ballots are due by Feb. 24 and that polls open at 6 a.m. Election officials said mail ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day, March 3. Polls open at 7 a.m., March 3.

Wichita Forward also released a statement apologizing for the error, saying its intention was to encourage voters to apply early and return ballots promptly to account for delivery times.
