Bird flu scare cancels Waterfowl Roundup at Great Falls Park
The Waterfowl Roundup in Gibson Park has been canceled after a goose tested positive for bird flu this week, leading to new safety measures in the area.
The goose reportedly showed signs of illness before testing positive, according to Great Falls Park and Recreation.
In response, signs warning people not to touch the birds have been posted.
Two individuals who had contact with the goose tested negative for the virus.
Despite the negative tests, officials are urging residents to report any sick birds to Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks.
