Oregon Leads Another Lawsuit Against Trump's Tariffs, This Time Challenging New 10% Charge - The Oregonian

Mar 6, 2026
Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield is again leading a major lawsuit over President Donald Trump’s tariffs. His office is challenging a new 10 percent global tariff on imported goods, filed Thursday at the United States Court of International Trade with officials from 23 other states. Rayfield called the new tariff an “end run” around Congress, which has the power to tax imported goods. The lawsuit says Trump lacks authority under Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974. Rayfield said Oregon is trade dependent, with small businesses and footwear and apparel companies like Nike and Columbia Sportswear especially exposed to sudden tariff increases.
