3 candidates run for 2 seats in Superior school board election Tuesday

SUPERIOR, Wis. (Northern News Now) - Voters in the Superior School District will choose two school board members on Tuesday during Wisconsin’s election. The district continues to face significant financial struggles as enrollment drops and costs rise.

Three candidates are vying for the two open seats. Two incumbents are defending their positions, joined by a newcomer who says she wants to bring a fresh perspective to the board.

All three candidates agree the district needs to continue advocating for more state funding.

Current council president Steve Olson is running for his third term. Olson is a lifelong Superior resident and worked at Superior High School for more than 30 years as both a teacher and administrator. He aims to ensure the district continues providing high-level programming.
