Wire bending pliers - nifty little tool
After many, many years of using needle-nose and other pliers to bend wire to my will, I bought a pair of wire bending pliers. Very nice. No longer will I suffer in shame as people point and laugh at my marred, crooked, homemade S-hooks and similar doo-dads. Also, I don't think I'll be needing any store bought S-hooks for a long time.
The ones I bought can handle fairly heavy wire coat hanger stock, but probably not much more. Also handles even heavier gauge, but softer, wire easily. Different sizes (radius) available.
Not exactly life changing, but pretty nifty.

The pins are removable, as shown.
Only two smooth radii can be bent.
Good old needle-nose pilers made many a loop for me. This guy, too:
Small wires only. Bigger wires, different radii, wrap around some pipe or whatever your vise will hold.
Or use a conduit bender!
I'd been debating getting one like your top picture. You may have pushed me over the edge.
I do have a couple of conduit benders. That EMT comes in really handy around the house/yard/garden. Haven't used it for anything electrical, though. 
I have no idea when I got that.
Agree on the EMT. I was going to do some garage wiring in the previous home, but extension cords were more than adequate.
Made the grade when electricity was something new.
