My oldest daughter and her husband tried it on me. I stood up for myself, and now she is in a bad spot. We communicate by text. Her bossy husband does not speak to me at all.

If I need help, I will ask. If I become incapacitated in any way, all three of my children can decide what to do about it.

I don't want them to and keep telling them not to. I don't want to alienate them, but it isn't doing anyone any good. I say 'no, thank you' as often as I can.
