I keep my grandson overnight sometimes. Hes nine and has autism. In the morning we play a kind of game in which he tries to go outside to get wet and muddy and I try to deliver him to school in a clean dry condition with clothes on his body.
This morning I thought I woke up before him. I got dressed. I made coffee. I glanced outside and noticed my darling grandson dancing naked under the neighbors sprinkler system.

I woke up early this morning around 6 a.m. A sudden thunderstorm was coming through and I had to run around and close my windows. As I came down the stairs to the living room, there's my doggy huddling on the step by the gate. (He knew I'd be coming down and he didn't want to miss me.) The poor little guy was shivering and scared from the lightning and thunder. So I took him in my arms and we had some "Mommy lap-time" on the couch.
We never know when a little tenderness and understanding is the most important thing we have to give.
