Meet Chip

I think you're familiar with Gibby, my JRT girl. I've downsized into a unit with small front and rear fenced yards and it was time to consider a friend for Gib.

This has all happened so fast - checked the local pet rescue this morning - Chip had appeared and I put in an application. Was informed that others were looking at him but turns out they have a great dane and he was terrified.

The baton passed to me; two hours after the message I'd picked him up. Gib and Chip will be great mates. They've already done some tentative zoomies around the living room. Right now he's asleep on my bed. I'm so happy and I think Gibby is too.

PS For any monarchy haters or anti-Camilla folk (and I don't really believe there are any here) Camilla has had rescue terriers for years. I love her for that.

I like Camilla too - I've always seen her as Charles' one true love and I think she is A-OK.

Had a rocky path - convention, royal protocol etc. I'm glad that time, including QE2 changed and accepted things in a more modern sense. (No offence mate but how cool if SCOTUS could do the same). It's strange but the country with the monarchy has kept up with the times while the US has battled to revert to 1800.

He's a beautiful, tiny little boy. Gibby doesn't tower over many dogs - but she's taller than Chip.

Fifty years ago. Everyone would’ve been happier, and poor Diana wouldn’t have had to go through her ordeal.

No protocol reasons to stop them. Charles, being the most eligible bachelor on the planet at the time, vaccillated then went away on a Royal Navy posting. Possibly his first command.

When he returned 18 months or so later, Camilla had married Andrew Parker Bowles - polo player and cavalry officer who moved in the same circles as Charles.

Rest is history.

Edit: Name error

I remember pics of her shaking little Charles' hand when she returned from a trip.......she would never approve of a marriage for him based on love alone.......she also held onto that crown so damn long, just kinda leaving him hanging
