I have a new story for you. And a pic.

I don't remember if I've shared this latest experience, or not, so here goes.

A bit over a week ago I saw a cat that dens somewhere else in the neighborhood and just occasionally shows up for food. Well, she had 3 kittens with her - I'm estimating they were around 2 weeks old. Oddly, the colors were the same as Carys' litter - two buff and one grey. The little grey guy let me pick him right up. Repeatedly, over about 2 days. I named him Rhys. Then they all disappeared. I figured that's the last I would see of them.

This morning, guess who showed up - Mom and all 3 kittens. Rhys ran right up to me!! I guess something about me attracts grey male kittens. He had dried food around his mouth so I know someone else is feeding them.

Now, who knows if they will appear again but my plans are the same - outdoor socializing, neutering, and then give them a good shelter and try to find them forever homes. I'm not optimistic about the siblings who I think are also male, but I won't give up.

Anyway, here's Rhys:

6. It's much more enjoyable and fulfilling work than that from which I retired.

The hours are longer but ,as of this point, none of these fur bundles have shown themselves to be a narcissistic sociopath who is determined to drive me insane.

Which reminds me - I should go out and check on how many kittens are hanging around and refill the water bowls. It's going to be a scorcher, today.

It's one of the things I love about cats, they aren't developing plot to drive us insane!

Stay cool, eat melons. The kitties have their spots, as long as they have water they'll probably be okay.

I'll give it a while to chill and then have some for lunch. I've already decided that tonight's dinner will be fish and chips washed down with a nice cold hard cider.

8. He and his siblings are still out there

Although they have the exact same colorings as Carys and her siblings, their personalities are the exact opposite. Grey Carys was so hesitant to get anywhere near me while Buff colored Space Boy and Moon Dust warmed up pretty fast.

Now it's the grey kitten that's bold. As is always the case, I will persist in trying to gain their trust.

She's nowhere to be seen but all 3 kittens are in the garden. Dewi is hanging out with them.
