4. Yes, it was called "Nancy", although originally it was called "Fritzi Ritz."

The creator of Nancy, Ernie Bushmiller. is long-deceased. The strip has been revived, but it is not the same. This cartoon is from a Facebook group called "Remixed Nancy Bushmiller".

5. Thanks for the response. It's funny but I still associate "Nancy" with another comic strip called "Louie",also long....

.......discontinued. They both appeared in a Cleveland newspaper years ago, one on top of the other. Just looked it up and Louie was drawn by a British cartoonist named Harry Hanan and featured him as short, dumpy, henpecked man to whom life was a constant struggle.
