NFL Playoff day today leaves many of us without our favorite teams to root for except for the lucky fans of the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos. (Later Los Angeles Rams at Seattle Seahawks, pregame 1800, Fox)
For those watching today who's your favorite to win?
And are you having snacks? Wings? Or like I am, cooking something special for the game?
I'm doing a traditional hot chili and it smells especially good right now!
So what say ye, football enthusiasts?
Who will it be today?
Are you a Patriots fan today?
Or are you all in for the Broncos?
If you're not a football fan, you're in the wrong place.
🍻Cheers to the lovers, winners or losers.
🍀Good luck, everyone!

(32,260 posts)Xavier doesn't make offensive exhalations. That yawn may hurt someone otherwise.
Four teams. No pick. Wrong thread?

(6,537 posts)But since you insist, here's my preference for the late game: that it's a fucking sight better than this one.

(6,537 posts)Definitely the theme of today. Looking out my front door reminds me of Dr. Zhivago.

(35,473 posts)for him and I guess his team. Absolutely do not care for the Pats vs Denver, cept felt sick for the Denver QB, Bo Nix getting injured and now out of the playoffs. It was the 2nd to last play of their game last week.
So I guess come on Denver.

On to the Rams v. Seahawks!!
Time for chili! Grab a bowl and get a spoon.
Things are getting serious!

Wait till next year!

(32,260 posts)Mother Nature must not like the Broncos. Sad. Oh, well.
I'm glad you made it home safe!

(29,523 posts)They get a lot of lucky breaks but they won't admit it. But the worst was after Seattle beat Detroit on a Monday night on an absolute atrocious call after KJ Wright punched a ball out of the end zone and the refs should have given it to the Lions but didn't. I had to fly to Michigan a couple of days later with some obnoxious 'twelves', as they call themselves (they stole that from Texas A&M) who were changing planes in Detroit on their way to Cincinnati and got out with their stupid flag to take a photo of themselves in the Detroit airport! After winning a game on a terrible call! It annoyed everyone, including a woman in an Indianapolis Colts jersey who was just as affronted as I was.
And they're all like that! Tone deaf.

(32,260 posts)A reported "over 50,000" community programs with children singing. But remember, the Nazis had Jr. Nazis.
People as citizens are already going to blatantly start taking sides against each other and we don't need that to exacerbate.
Might be better to have something not political like team sports to channel that overt need for competition.
I know that it's unhealthy for everyone to keep stress levels up and cortisol high. There has to be a steam valve to avoid an internal combustion explosion.
We need a maintained strong resolve and power in community not hari-kari like self destruction. This is going to take a while to overcome.

(4,993 posts)I know the weather was bad there, but we've had a foot of snow in the Boston area tonight and they just couldn't have played here. It's still snowing hard. I wonder what they would have done.

(26,008 posts)Darnold looks more prepared for the Super Bowl than Drake Maye. Of course they're not the only two players who will be on the field, but they're key pieces.
Wonder if Matt Stafford will be back next year at age 38 after coming this close. The Rams are a very good team and Stafford might still have the itch in hopes of winning a second ring.

(32,260 posts)Today was a very exciting game with lots of contact.
But at 37 he's been playing probably twenty years or more. I can't imagine what his body is telling him but it has to be loud.
I'm exhausted and I just watch. 😆🤓❤️
