I am beside myself right now. I am in Honolulu and just sang at a Lutheran Church. I start tomorrow going around the world singing and speaking. I will be in New Zealand, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Qatar, South Africa, Greece, Poland, Germany, Portugal, Brazil, Uraguay and Peru. This is a 68 day trip that has been in the process of putting together for 6 years. I just recieved my Doctorate in Sacred Music and am finally starting this trip. This is my fourth day. I have 64 more days.

I ask for your prayers and or good wishes. I am a little nervous about Vietnam and South Africa. I will be blogging about the trip. Peace Mike C

.... take plenty of lozenges,... all that singing is bound to be hard on your throat. A mild gargle with salt and warm water before you fall to sleep might helpful too.

21. I was in Vietnam 2 years ago and didn't have any problems

as a solo female traveler. Granted different president now but you should be fine. What cities are you going to?

46. I was supposed to stay in Hanoi but the air quality was really bad.

I went during the burning season which just added to the already ever present pollution.
Hue was interesting. The TTC Imperial has a restaurant/bar on the top floor with amazing views of the city. The Imperial City was definitely worth the time to see it. I don’t make it any farther south than Da Nang.

Was there for over a year, the food is amazing, the coffee is out of this world, and the people are kind. The big cities aren't so great but I feel that way about all big cities... escape Hanoi and HCMC, find the coastal cities like Nha Trang and enjoy the sunshine and beaches.

Be very careful as you move about as there are pickpockets, robbers and scammers everywhere. Locals are always a good source for clues of local crime trends and preventative measures.
