Elizabeth Warren in Austin Sunday to raise money for Texas Democrats

Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, one of the party’s biggest draws, will be at Scholz Garten in Austin raising money for the Texas Democratic Party on Sunday.

Warren was the subject of intense interest on the left of the Democratic Party as a potential presidential candidate for 2016. She demurred and it is a space that Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders subsequently filled, with surprising success so far, drawing big crowds and poised, according to polls, to successfully challenge former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary.

But, amid concerns from some Democrats that Clinton’s campaign is in trouble, and Sanders would have a difficult go at it in the general election as a self-described socialist, Patrick Healey had a story in today’s New York Times suggesting Warren’s name, along with others, may yet resurface as a potential candidate in 2016.
