Automation Nation

This video is from 2017. We have seen this trend marching along - how is it that Yang is the only candidate with concrete plans to mitigate the effects of this transition?

I think (hope) some people will be very surprised at how much more support he starts getting as more people start getting this message.

I saw Zanny Minton Beddoes, from the Economist Magazine last evening at St. Louis Speaker Series and she was in favor of a VAT tax with redistribution to make the lives of all better. She did mention the coming of AI as a huge disruptive force but was not as concerned about the job shake out. I have to disagree with her on that point as I see the disruption coming quicker than the market will be able to address.

I understand the impulse to look back at history and say that since everything worked out then, we can expect the same thing in the future - however it is not a logical way to assess any situation, much less one which changes with the speed that technology does.
