(56,931 posts)Because I don't like living in an authoritarian nation. Remember, Obama is on Trump's list as well.
Comey has already been exonerated through an OIG report on these very same grounds. This is out of spite for Trump, nothing else.
Authoritarianism thrives because the people allow it.

(3,930 posts)the buffoon we have at the WH and the minions who do not have the cojones to stop the madness, to say "no".
This is all the buffoon does all day, thinking about hurting people that in his screwed up brain thinks they wanted to harm him, not recognizing that he is his worst enemy for committing so many crimes, the law has to catch up with the criminal eventually, but he doesn't understand that.
I am not familiar with what Comey is being charged with, have not watched the video.

(30,881 posts)I'd say it is on very thin ice, but not over yet. Given the age and condition of my prostate, I am either more pissed than you are or more frequently, if perhaps feebly, pissed. In any event, God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater.

(3,930 posts)wanna-be dictators never get to the final line, they are caught eventually because they mess around with the wrong people, and trump is getting closer and closer to that moment. The nightmare will be over, Democrats will win and restore everything these people have destroyed, and continue to destroy, but like Robert Reich wrote, even the MAGAts are starting to open their eyes, and I agree with him.

(7,678 posts)By this if they follow through with an indictment. They have a less than zero chance of getting a conviction. The likelihood of the case being thrown out before it ever gets heard is at least 99%. The attorney who would be bringing these charges ( one of Trump's former personal lawyers) has never prosecuted a case. It might actually be humorous to watch how poorly and unprofessionally they would handle it.
