(250,542 posts)I managed to see them in concert once, think it was a reunion tour. And Paul's wife was chaplain at my boarding school, but unfortunately it was after my time there. Paul and his wife lived there and I learned that Peter, Paul and Mary gave several concerts.

(250,542 posts)As for camp, we moved a lot when I was a kid due to my father's job. So I stayed longer at camp than I did at any school (six years) and the girls I got to know there are still my lifelong friends. We used to have reunions going back to Vermont, but the last one was before the pandemic. *sigh* And we also went to concerts together since we hung around together after camp was over. I still remember the concerts we went to that first year we were old enough to go alone, think we were 14, and we saw Blood, Sweat & Tears, José Feliciano and an incredible double bill of Arlo Guthrie followed by Judy Collins! I still remember the dress that she wore...

(250,542 posts)My friends and I are getting up there, but my friend whose parents owned the camp (girls' camp on Lake Champlain in Vermont which they ran from 1951-2006!) likes to plan some activity and at the last gathering we climbed the highest mountain in Vermont!
The main activities were riding (horses - which I did at home at a nearby college) and swimming. There were lots of other activities, but those two were the only ones which were required. I loved the riding, was never an enthusiastic swimmer, but my two other favorites were the theater and the rifle range. I learned to shoot there and was good enough to make the team and when I went to high school I was the first and only girl to be on the rifle team there. Needless to say, the school no longer has a rifle team, nor do the other schools we used to shoot against, including the military schools. There were never any incidents either at camp or at school, but obviously it's considered too dangerous today.
