Let's talk about Trump hanging up the auto-pen talking point.... - Belle of the Ranch

Well, howdy there Internet people. It's Belle again. So, today we're going to talk about Trump hanging up the autopen talking point.

I'm going to have to start with the news and then get to the question because I feel like most people would have missed this. I did. Didn't even know what happened until I got the message. Back in June, Trump told the Attorney General to investigate what he believed was a conspiracy to “abuse the power of presidential signatures through the use of an auto pen.”

Do y'all remember this? I have a video from the time debunking the idea that an autopen somehow created a legal issue and it was kind of a one and done type thing. Trump said something. He's not a source. That's not true. Okay. Well, lo and behold, the Department of Justice has reportedly ended their probe of the autopen scandal because they couldn't find an applicable statute.

So, here's the message that I got that made me have to look up whatever this is about. "Belle, I'm sure you're happy your autopen president is getting off scot-free. You know what he did was unconstitutional and illegal, and just because of a technicality, he'll get away with it. You know, that's wrong. They may not have been able to find a law to match what he did, but that doesn't mean we can't make one. So, I wouldn't make your little video celebrating this just yet.”

Okay? Look, I'm going to keep it real with you. If you hadn't sent this, there would be no video on this topic. In case you missed it there's been a whole war thing going on, and there's no celebration to be had here. This was the obvious outcome. It would be like celebrating because it dropped below 32 degrees and water froze. Though I do feel like I need to say them not being able to find a law to match what he did isn't really a technicality. That's literally you saying it isn't illegal.

But I'm really only making this video because I am once again asking people to actually read the Constitution or if you don't want to read it, there's a link to a reading of the Constitution in the description of my videos. Because while using an autopen is definitely not unconstitutional, making a law to criminalize something after the fact definitely is.

Ex post facto laws, after the-act laws, are actually one of the few things prohibited in the constitution twice. It's an Article 1, Section 9 and Section 10. One is the congressional prohibition and one is the state prohibition. And that does actually mean you can't make one.

Okay. So, the autopen investigation into Biden concluded without charges. Breaking news. Fork found in kitchen. Also, Trump supporters don't understand the Constitution, so I guess a spoon was found in the kitchen, too.

Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
